Tiffany & Nick's Wedding in Carmel, California

We ended our season on a very high note when we traveled to the scenic coastal town of Carmel in California for Tiffany and Nick’s intimate wedding. We met Tiffany at her friend Ashley’s wedding in 2017 that we filmed in Livermore, CA. She was the maid of honor then and we got along with her right away! We were so stoked when she asked if we were available for her and Nick’s wedding this past November!

Tiffany got ready at the wedding venue, The Highlands Inn, overlooking the Pacific Ocean full of Cyprus trees on the shoreline. Kate and Bianca of MUAH Makeup and Hair got the girls ready with beautifully blended eyeshadow and pink lips. On the bed, the bridesmaids threw glitter to make for one of our favorite shots of the year! A local designer, Ericka Engelman Couture, made Tiffany’s one-of-a-kind long sleeve gown with fuller skirt. Nick and his Jersey boys (mostly) got ready at a rental house, Carmel Stonehouse, and put on their all-blue tailored suits. Ian Martin Photography, a local photog, was super awesome to work with all day and knew the venue!

Walking onto the large balcony where the ceremony took place was breathtaking. Patty Speirs of Every Last Detail Wedding & Event Coordination did a fantastic job coordinating and planning the day within a minute so everything was perfectly planned with the sunset. CC Creations and Floral Design created floral pieces for the ceremony deck as well as a cascading bouquet for Tiffany, bouquets for the bridesmaids, and boutonnieres. A live musician, Mark Banks of Kelly Productions, played guitar and sang as guests arrived in golden light and took their seats for the ceremony. He also sang “I Can’t Help Falling in Love” for their processional into the ceremony. The bride’s dad, Mike, officiated and did a truly fantastic job articulating their love and all of the love their friends and family have for them. Tiffany and Nick wrote their own vows which were nothing short of unique. Nick even listed off things that are boring to do with one person but awesome to do with two. Like cooking and putting a sheet on a bed, to name a few.

Cocktail hour took place on the same deck overlooking the ocean with drinks and passed hors d’oeuvres. It was truly a magical space as the sun set with Tiffany and Nick’s closest family and friends surrounding them. Marc Banks also played and sang “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillet for the couples first dance which was on the same outdoor stage as the ceremony. All around the ceremony and reception space, there were handmade signs by Heart Paper Soul Wedding, who also created the beautiful invitations! The party moved upstairs into the Surf Room with a wall of windows overlooking the ocean. Chic Event Party Rentals provided the tables and chairs for the evening which completed the reception space.

CJ from Wedding Tech DJ's and Lighting put on one insane party, mixing together DeadMau5 tracks (the groom’s favorite) with more popular songs with an impressive outcome. They also set up the DJ lighting which added to the atmosphere of the party. Celebratory cigars were smoked on the patio with a view of the cyprus trees and ocean. It was a truly magical evening and rocking party for two incredible people.

Lindsay & Ryan's Wedding at Signature Flight

We always love coming to California for epic weddings because they never disappoint. This was by far the biggest wedding we’ve ever been a part of with nearly 600 guests!

The bride started her day by getting ready at her parent’s beautiful house in Fresno, CA. Her girls were all around her in their adorable black robes. There we met Johnny and Cindy of Johnny Stafford Photography and had the pleasure of collaborating with them throughout the day. The groom and his guys got their suits on at a family member’s house only a few doors down. The wonderful couple, Lindsay and Ryan, had their First Look in the backyard of her parent’s house near a gorgeous fountain. After family photos and bridal party photos, I hopped into the party bus from Absolute Comfort with Lindsay and her bridesmaids to film them partying all the way to the church. Probably my favorite part of the entire day; they were so fun!

Once at the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, Krishna and I set up our cameras and audio and got ready for the ceremony, a particular faith we have never filmed before. One of the aspects of what we do that I love, is we’re able to witness cultures and ceremonies we wouldn’t otherwise have access to. It’s really a treat to peak into these people’s lives for a day. There were customs that we were unfamiliar with, such as the three reverends who all officiated the ceremony. The main reverend had a robe with a black hood and chanted in Armenian throughout the ceremony. He also crowned the bride and groom as the king and queen of their household. After the couple was married, they processed down the aisle and hugged their parents and grandparents, which was a very sweet tradition.

All the guests headed over to the very posh Signature Flight, a private airport in Fresno for charter flights. Shelli of Shelli Armstrong Events completely transformed the hangar, creating a space with drapery from The Linen Shoppe. Setting the Stage did an incredible job rigging all the lighting, from the chandeliers to all of the fixtures and stage lighting. Rentals for the space were by White Night, Lounge Essence, Expo, Circle of Events, and Walker Lewis. These included the beautiful white and gold chairs and tables, cocktail tables, lounge seating, centerpieces, and dishware. There were huge floral arrangements by San Francisco Floral, who also made the bouquets and boutonnieres. There was no spot that wasn’t decorated and everything was decadent and sparkling. They had a live Armenian band, Khatchig, who were incredibly entertaining and talented, and a DJ. After cocktail hour, the guests headed into the main reception space for a plated multi-course meal from Pardini’s.

The couple danced were introduced by the band who sung an Armenian song while all of the guests danced around the couple. They did their first dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect” followed by the father daughter and mother son dance. Everybody partied until the wee hours with the band and DJ switching off entertaining for the night. We definitely want to do another Armenian wedding! The couples that we’ve filmed have been the most fun and these people know how to party.

Megan & Wesley's Wedding at Cooper's Hall PDX

Planning a wedding in Portland, OR for 70 of your closest friends and family from the small town of Biloxi, Mississippi, is no easy feat. But somehow Megan and Wesley’s great taste in everything wedding shined through and they made it a truly special destination wedding. We were lucky enough to meet with them on one of their quick planning trips to Portland and we didn’t even talk about the wedding until 45 minutes into the meeting- they are that magnetic.

The day started out with the glam squad of Dosha Salon getting Megan and her wonderful bridesmaids ready for the day. Upstairs at Hotel Monaco (where the cast of Twilight stayed during filming), her bridesman, Orlando, held down the fort in a complimentary hotel robe. The funky fixtures and wallpaper made for a great setting for the bride to out on her whimsical Hayley Page dress that had blue and grey undertones in the tulle. Krishna filmed Wesley and his guys getting ready at a tiny house AirBnB, the same spot that the bride and groom first stayed at on a trip to Portland.

We had the great pleasure of meeting and working with two incredibly talented and sweet photographers: Bryan of Bryan Rupp Photography and his second shooter for the day, Emily of Emily Gigoux Photography. Everyone headed on over to Cooper’s Hall for the ceremony and reception part of the day. Honor Flowers provided the fall themed bouquets with maroon tones and berries. She even provided the gigantic pentagonal arch that the couple got married under and adorned it with maroon flowers and greenery. The ceremony was so sweet which left both me and Krishna in tears when they shared their vows they wrote to each other.

After the ceremony, we left with the photographers and the couple for some photos by the waterfront. We got there right when as the sun was setting behind the buildings of downtown Portland and had Megan and Wes dance and kiss and do all the things that newlyweds should do. Maegan Haynes, the venue coordinator for Cooper’s Hall, did an outstanding job communicating with all the vendors and making sure the night went smoothly. Lynn Winkle of Media Jockeys DJ’d the dance floor until 11:00 pm, when the party moved to Rontom’s for the afterparty.

Seriously love this couple and you can feel their love!

Diana & Jerrohn's Wedding at Rock Creek Country Club, OR

We were so happy to be booked for this wedding based on a referral from the couple’s photographer and our friend, Monica Martinez, of Jane and Co. Photography. The bride, Diana, is Ukrainian so we knew it would be a fun party and a multicultural celebration.

The day started off with the bride and groom, Jerrohn, getting ready at the Embassy Suites in Hillsboro, OR. It’s so important for the photos and video that you choose a clean and bright space for cinematic results. This space had so much light and was the perfect spot for them to get ready. Diana and her girls wore silky floral robes and we got some amazing video of all of them jumping on the bed! Mallory from Blossom and Beauty did most of the bridesmaids gorgeous hair and makeup looks as well as the brides. She put on her dress from The White Dress PDX by designer Stella York in front of the window.

After Aly filmed the girls and Krishna filmed the guys, we headed over to Pittock Mansion, a historical house in NW Portland for the First Look and bride and groom photos/video. MacCoy Merkley of MacCoy Dean Photography, and also one of our friends, second shot for Monica through the ceremony. We raced to the venue to get footage of the bridal party and family before the ceremony.

This multi-cultural wedding was one to be remembered. Diana, the bride, is from the Ukraine, so her family partied hard to traditional songs like Hava Nagina. DJ ATM used vinyl control decks to mix songs, both old and new, with traditional Ukranian favorites. The party kept going in the clubhouse as friends played tracks, kids slept, and people partied some more! Jenny & Clay's Love Story Film

Sometimes we have the pleasure of working with our couples before their wedding day and filming a Love Story film for them. Last week we filmed Jenny and Clay at the Yaquina Lighthouse on the Oregon Coast, the exact spot where he proposed! For this film, we did on-camera interviews instead of just audio, to make the couple’s vision come to life. We absolutely love collaborating with our clients and putting into film what they imagine in their heads.

After filming at the Lighthouse, we drove over to Newport, OR where they had their celebratory meal. Well, not quite celebratory, because Clay hadn’t proposed yet when they went to dinner because it was storming outside! Luckily, the weather was amazing the next day and his proposal happened right where he wanted it. They went for a walk near the docks where sea lions were at first making noise and then full-on fighting each other. For each Love Story film we do a long version for them to watch with each other and their future generations and a 1-minute version perfect for sharing on Instagram and anywhere else. It helps us so much to get to know our clients before their wedding day and now we feel so comfortable with each other and they know how we work.

Robin & Beau's Wedding in Breckenridge, CO

We met the groom, Beau, when he was DJing a wedding that we were filming in San Jose, CA. Immediately we knew he was an awesome person with a good heart. So, when he reached out to us to ask if we travel for weddings, we jumped at the opportunity to film his wedding in the beautiful mountain town of Breckenridge, Colorado.

We flew into the Denver International Airport on Friday and drove two hours into the Tenmile Mountain Range, where the air is thin and the trees were changing their leaves into fall colors. Saturday morning, we headed to the bride, Robin’s, parents house to film her and her bridesmaids getting ready and hanging out. Christy Ogden from Divine Beauty got the girls and the bride camera ready with flawless hair and makeup. We met Frances Marron of Frances Photography and it’s always nice to meet the vendors in new areas we work. Krishna left to film Beau and his groomsmen nearby at Mountain Thunder Lodge.

Over at the venue, Tenmile Station, Robin out on her Carolina Herrera ballgown and dramatic veil perfect for the drama of the mountains all around. Emily Campbell from Bella Design and Planning put together a comprehensive schedule that helps all of the vendors days go smoothly. She designed the reception tent with round and rectangle tables topped with huge centerpieces of greenery by Bloom Flower Shop. Each place setting had gold and black silverware and a mcintosh apple to honor Robin’s last name.

They were married outside by a close friend of theirs who was also one of Robin’s bridesmaids. There was a wooden floor runway for the aisle and the backdrop was the ski runs and multicolored trees. After the ceremony, the guests headed inside Tenmile Station where they had mocktails and appetizers. The reception tent was revealed to the bride and groom with their ornate tablescapes and modern lounge seating provided by Eclectic Hive. The guests took their seats followed by the introduction of Beau and Robin as husband and wife! They cut the multi-tiered white cake by Katy Pierson Cake and then did a choreographed first dance to “You Make Me Feel Like Dancing”. The Dance Doctors live band did an incredible job of getting the party started with their awesome renditions of oldies and new pop music.

Katie & Charlie's Wedding at the Columbia Gorge Hotel

Katie and Charlie’s romantic outdoor wedding was set in the perfect location for the vibe of the day. The Columbia Gorge Hotel & Spa sits right next to the Columbia River with incredible views, a back patio for cocktail hour, and even a waterfall. The day started off with the girls getting ready at the Gorge Style Salon in Hood River, OR. The guys got ready in the bridal suite at the hotel and headed over to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for the early ceremony. Their priest, Father David, officiated the ceremony in his deep, booming voice which sounds amazing in the final video. The bride and groom left for the Columbia Gorge Hotel in a classic blue Fiat convertible, a wedding present from Charlie’s dad to his mother on their wedding day.

The reception kicked off with spectacular views at the back patio with cocktails and passed hors d’ oeuvres. Your Perfect Bridesmaid planned and coordinated the event perfectly and matched the decor and florals with the setting. Lucy’s Informal Flowers created wild bouquets with pinks, white, and greenery cascading down. Everyone moved to the lawn area for dinner and reception time. The space had string lighting draped back and forth to create a romantic feel for the evening. The bride and groom’s first dance took place as the sun was setting and we even stole them away right after to explore the grounds and grab some video of them. Heidi from Uncommon Muse was a joy to work with and collaborated with us all day.

Alan Curtiss from GeoARI got amazing aerial footage so we could focus on the video on the ground. Jesse from Event Team Entertainment is one the best in the business and mixed oldies with new dance music for the party that continued until 1:00 am! Seriously, the dance floor was on fire all night.

Olivia & Ely's Wedding in Oregon City

Olivia and Ely’s Wedding at the Abernethy Center in Oregon City was a special one, not because of the setting or the decor, but because of the special people involved. We met Olivia 3 years ago at her sister, Emily’s wedding in Junction City. Two years ago we flew to Michigan to film their family friend’s wedding and had a wonderful experience. Suffice to say, we were very excited for this bride’s special day to come. Both Olivia and Ely are such kind and generous souls and we felt nothing but love from them on their wedding day. Becky Hart from Event Crush planned the event and Ashley Cook Photography took photos of these amazing people.

Olivia and her bridesmaids got ready for the wedding at an Airbnb in West Linn that had beautiful windows and bright walls perfect for filming. Krishna left the bride’s rental to film Ely and his guys getting ready at The River’s Edge Hotel in Portland. After everyone was finished with prep, we all headed to the Abernethy Center for the First Look and photos.

Their ceremony took place in Abigail’s Garden under a canopy of trees and white gazebo. Ely’s uncle officiated the ceremony with guests from Texas, Oregon and Michigan in attendance. Emily’s husband even played guitar during the couple’s communion!

The Ballroom space had round tables decorated with maroon flowers with gold geometric vases and accents. FAT Cupcake made the tiered cake with maroon and white flowers. The couple danced their first dance, and had a song with each of their parents which is always a sweet moment. They danced the night away until their exit with all their friends and family gathered to wave them off. We can;t wait for the next wedding in this family line! We love them!
