Sarah and Erik's wedding started off at a beautiful rental house in Mt. Hood with a glorious view of Mt. Adams. They met doing one of the coolest jobs I've heard of: flying helicopters for the U.S. Coast Guard. Kirstie Wight did the bride's hair and makeup while Ely Roberts Photography snapped getting-ready portraits.
The ceremony took place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hood River and ended with a Sword Arc. The bride and groom had to "kiss to pass" each crossed sword held by their friends in military whites. They went straight to the airport to get ready for their helicopter entrance into the reception space, Mt. Hood Organic Farms. We even managed to get an awesome drone shot as they were landing.
Mt. Hood Organic Farms has one of the most spectacular views of Mt. Hood out of all the wedding venues near Portland. The owners, Brady & John Jacobson, do all of the landscaping and unique woodworking that you can see throughout the reception space. Cultivate Catering served a family style meal full of delicious produce grown on site. They even had a special vendor table which is rare and so appreciated!
So many people came from across the country to get to this wedding and you could feel the excitement. Sarah's dad gave an emotional yet hilarious toast, followed by her sister, and Erik's brother. Their cake by Fox Tail Bake Shop was super impressive and even had action figures f Sarah and Erik in their flight suits. Jai of Stumptown DJ's rocked a playlist full of country and american classics late into the night.
