This one was our second wedding at Abigail’s Garden at the Abernethy Center in one week, but it was so different! This was our first Brunch wedding, and we started filming at 7:30 am!
Although we’re not used to early starts, we were caffeinated and ready. Plus, Jillian and Ian are two of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet, so it makes it easy. Blossom and Beauty was at this one, too, just like the previous week, and did an amazing job on the bride’s hair and makeup. We also got to work with one of our friends, Chris, of Steele Photo, and his second shooter, Jake, of Sweetlife Photography.
After filming preps, the couple did a First Look, but with a twist. They had letters that they wrote to each other and they read them, leaving all the media team crying. I’m not joking, me and three grown men were crying from these letters this couple wrote. The ceremony started shortly after, with the groom's aunt officiating and the couples siblings all shared passages on love and life. DJ James Jacobsen emceed and played mellow tunes for this early mimosa hour. Underneath the tent, the reception space was transformed. Peter Corvallis Productions provided rentals for the event, including elegant wooden chairs.
There was a ton for guests to do, including take funny pics at the Little Photo Bus of Portland, or get donuts and chai from Pip’s Mobile Doughnuts + Chai. A Floral Affair did the natural bouquets with greenery and white flowers. The party was over at 4:00 pm and guests sent them off with tons of bubbles! Always my favorite. Check out their incredible vows in their Preview Film!
