We had the pleasure of meeting this wonderful bride, Cori, and her groom, Adam, when we filmed her friend's wedding last year! We knew their wedding would be a fun one when they were on the dance floor all night long. We drove out to the coast of Cannon Beach, where Cori grew up, and lucked out on an absolutely perfect day. The bride got ready at the Surfsand Resort in a beachfront room, with unreal views. Brittany Blanchard did Cori's makeup and hair, in simple waves with a crown and she sore a princess ballgown, to make a statement for a beach wedding. The groom, Adam, put on a double-breasted grey vest with a slim cut blue suit and looked the peak of PNW fashion.
We met the talented photographers, Bridget of Lundyn Bridge Photography, and her second shooter who we met at a networking event last year, Erin of Erin Fortin Photography, and collaborated on some creative ideas for the day. The couple did their First Look in tall grass near the beach, with the famous Cannon Beach rock in the background. The bridal party joined them there, and the media team took the bridesmaids to the beach to get some awesome footage of the bridesmaids walking through the waves, holding their shoes. When we get a couple who is down to get creative and fun shots, that’s when we can really go for it and have our best ideas. The groomsmen did karate moves for Krishna’s lens and some crazy jumping shots. After the photos, it was time for the ceremony!
For video, we need a little bit more time to set up for a ceremony than a photographer, as we have to set up audio with the DJ, mic up the groom and officiant, and set up a third camera, that we check periodically during the ceremony. Cori and Adam exchanged their vows privately on the beach in the morning, so it would be more special to them. Of course we had them re-read them for the camera, though! Cori walked down the aisle with her dad, with one of the biggest, most gorgeous bouquets I’ve seen, from Cannon Beach Florist. They recessed to Justin Timeberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling” and got the reception started in the banquet room at Surfsand Resort. Erika and her team from Your Perfect Bridesmaid got the room party ready, with cute table details, dessert table by Cannon Beach Bakery, and lovely guestbook table when you first walked in. The bride and groom was introduced and the party got rolling with toasts from the couple’s friends and parents.
Cori and Adam did an incredible choreographed first dance, which they recreated on the beach later at sunset, near the waves. PDX DJ’s got the party going and was spot on with their announcements all night long. We took the couple out for sunset photos and video, and we managed to come to the resort on the best sunset all summer. Even the employees told us it was the best one yet! Every single person danced until they closed the place down! Check out this magical Preview Film above!
