Brittani and Jeremy are one of those couples who you instantly love. She’s vivacious and charismatic, while he’s the shy, southern gentleman. These two lovebirds from Dallas, Texas tied the knot at Blockhouse and the Pomarius Nursery, which was transformed by Luxe Event Productions. They created Lounge spaces with copper tables, green and black couches from Archive Rentals.
The day started out at a classy Airbnb in SE Portland that had a ton of windows and reminded me of living in a fishbowl. Brittani, her sister, and her lovely mom, all had their makeup done by Sia Miller of Faces by Sia, who made everyone look flawless. Krishna filmed Jeremy and his family getting ready at the uberhip Kimpton Vintage Hotel in downtown Portland. After the bride’s mom gave her the sweetest well wishes for her marriage, we headed to the venue, where the Ceremony and Reception were held. Allison Hutchins from Luxe Event Productions planned the whole event, and designed the space under a gorgeous white tent. I’m a huge fan of white tents made of organza fabric this season!
The couple had almost all of their friends and family from everywhere other than Oregon, mostly Texas, so it was very special and intimate. Bo Baskoro, a talented musician in town, and DJ for John Ross Music, sang and played guitar, accompanied by violin and cello, as the bride walked down the aisle with her cathedral veil following behind her. The bride and groom said touching vows to each other about how they met and how immediately they knew they were right for each other. After their Ceremony, and after everyone dried their eyes, guests were welcomed into the Cocktail Hour setting, with high tables and passed hors d’oerves.
The staff turned over the Ceremony space into the Reception space, with long, wooden tables with greenery and candles on top. Guests mingled as Caitlyn Juarez from On the Times Photo took family and group photos. We had the pleasure of hanging out with Caitlyn all day, as she came all the way from Dallas, too! All over the site, you could see signs made custom by Hey Halle, that added to the garden wedding. Guests grabbed delicious, farm fresh food from a buffet by Chef’s Table Catering and sat wherever they wanted, no seating chart! As the sun set, we took Brittani and Jeremy out of the wedding and into the streets of Portland, where we filmed them walking on train tracks while our JBL speaker played “Eastside” as the sky turned from shades of deep blue to dark purple and pink.
After the bride and groom rejoined the party, things really got going as Bo DJ’ed! Everyone danced, drank, and just had a good time. At the end of the night, all the guests lined up in the nursery shining their cell phone flashlights as Brittani and Jeremy ran through the tunnel! As Brittani would say, “That’s so millennial!!”
