Amanda and Lane’s wedding was one of those highly anticipated events for us. Amanda is a photographer for A Lovely Day Photography and we had the pleasure of working with her at a wedding a couple years ago. When she got engaged, we were so excited she chose us to document their special day. A few months ago, we got to know them and their story better while filming their Love Story at The Vintages in Dayton, OR, and it made us even more stoked to be apart of this day.
Some of the best vendors in town were hired for the event, because when you’ve been to 100+ weddings, you get to know the best people. The owner of A Lovely Day, Jessica Hill, photographed alongside us with another A Lovely Day photographer, Lindsey. The day started at Jupiter NEXT in NE Portland, a new and sleek hotel perfect for filming. Amanda got ready with the amazing Kirstie Wight as her makeup and hair artist. Her gorgeous dress from a&be Bridal and their celestial rings were made by Twist. Lane got ready with his brothers and his dad and wore a dapper suit from The Black Tux.
Everyone headed on over to Union/Pine where the ceremony and reception took place. Their adorable son, River, was helped into his little tux in the Loft area of the building. Amanda put on her gorgeous beige gown and crystal hairpiece. We had a wedding first at this one, when the bride and groom did a first touch so they could have a moment before the ceremony but the first time Lane saw his bride in her dress was when she walked down the aisle. This was an especially sweet moment to capture. The ceremony space was decorated with a hexagonal arch made by the groom’s father and benches made entirely by Lane and his brothers. The arch was decorated with a bounty of maroon flowers by Brenna Burnett Florals. She also created a next-level bridal bouquet, boutonnieres for the guys, and foliage for the reception tables.
The ceremony was so sweet with their personal vows and Lane’s vows to Amanda’s son, River. After the ceremony, the guests headed to the upper level of the space for cocktails and photobooth time with Happymatic, full of props and complete with glittery backdrop. Mint and Mirth made custom cocktails for all of the wedding guests. Cindy from Peachy Keen Coordination set up the reception space with long tables and the homemade benches, as well as coordinated the event without a hitch. Dinner was a buffet of tacos from Porque No Taqueria. Classic Vintage Rentals did an excellent job matching the style of the wedding to their deco lounge seating and tables.
Both Amanda and lane’s fathers gave heartfelt toasts followed by the cutting of the cake, a custom fig and gold leaf tiered cake by Dream Cakes. The bride and groom did a choreographed first dance which they killed and Krishna captured flawlessly with steadicam. Amanda danced with her dad and Lane danced with his mom, two moments in a wedding day that chokes me up since having a kid!
DJ Zimmie killed it on the decks and their guests, including the bride and groom, danced all the way up to their sparkler exit. Nineteen 27 S’mores torched marshmallows and made s’mores with custom flavors like bourbon chocolate. They even had an afterparty with their close friends and family at a bar nearby to keep the party going. We could tell that great care and expertise went into every detail of this wedding and we can only hope we did it justice!
